Terminology

In Spezzle there 3 important information units:

package A package is the smallest information unit on Spezzle. It's a piece of text that contains different types of information about a (set of) feature(s) and that has been marked-up so that we can show or hide the different aspects according to the visualization mode a user has activated. Patterns can be used to build up specifications.
specification A specification is the end result you get from Spezzle. It's a document that is the result of the interaction between a "customer" and a developer/project manager. It describes the features required for a project and the way that they will be implemented. Specifications can also be used to build up the documentation for a project. Typically a customer would build a specification draft using existing patterns and then modify or even add additional features.
collection A collection is a set of patterns and specifications assembled by a group of people. Typically collections are used by organizations or interest groups to show/share their skills with people interested in a specific website vertical. Collections can also be used to build a private/corporate pattern/specification library.
